How can babies be SO DANGEROUS?

Something a concerned and confused father asked me when he saw the damage his darling 3 day old daughter had done to his wife’s nipples….I couldn’t help let out a giggle, bless!

Babies are so soft, sweet, innocent and cuddly and have no intention of doing any damage, but they can and do!

For many first time parents, this concept is something so alien that they only believe it, when they see or experience it first hand.

No matter how many first time moms I tell to prepare themselves beforehand – too many BLINDLY believe that everything will be FINE for them – you know who you are! :)

So what advice would I give to any first time parents reading this BLOG?

Firstly, make sure you get a good foundation and understand how breastfeeding works before baby arrives.
(You aren’t going to find anything as good as my BEGINNERS GUIDE – so start here)

Secondly, know where to get one to one help should you need it after the baby arrives.

Thirdly, don’t be shy or affraid to ask me for help!
You have my number and email address, just contact me and we will go from there!

Moms often see if they can resolve problems on their own for days or weeks and then call me when they are about to GIVE UP!

Naturally, this creates a lot of additional pressure on the mom who is experiencing extreme pain. We need to eliminate pain quickly so that mom can get back to enjoying breastfeeding.

I guess my primary concern is that moms are told that breastfeeding is so natural and that the baby knows exactly what to do.

Breastfeeding is not just a natural thing that happens for all babies. There is a lot that we need to take into account when getting baby onto the breast.

I have studied for 9 years to help my clients get this right. I can and want to help you too!

Please don’t get yourself in a pickle once your baby is born, prepare yourself beforehand so that you are more likely to succeed!

As always…much love,

Geraldine
